SoniControl Update available in Google Play Store We are pleased to announce that the updated version of our SoniControl firewall was released on the Google Play Store! The new version includes novel features like: • An algorithm that recognizes the type of message and the protocol behind. • Novel visualization and sonification features to Read more about SoniControl 2.0 Release[…]
Making it ready for release We finished integrating all the nice features and fixing many bugs, we are now finalizing the documentation… Stay tuned!
Usability testing and UI design process Over the past weeks we have been working hard on integrating all the features of SoniControl 2.0 in the most usable way possible. We have been conducting expert interviews and user tests and wanted to give you some insights into this process. You will see below the evolution of Read more about SoniControl 2.0 redesign[…]
An ultrasonic christmas message Here is how an ultrasonic ‘Merry Xmas’ looks like! We have been doing usability tests over the past weeks and are now redesigning SoniControl 2.0 based on the feedback. These improvements should be available soon in our beta release channel. Stay tuned!
Many people contacted us in the past and asked if an iOS version of SoniControl is available. There seem to be a large demand from the iOS user community and therefore we tried our best answering the following questions: Is it technically possible to create an iOS version of SoniControl? Would an iOS version of Read more about iOS Concept for SoniControl 2.0[…]
Looking forward to your feedback! We are glad to announce that SoniControl 2.0 is ready to (beta) test on the Google Play Store! As previously announced, this version includes novel diagnostics features intended to make ultrasonic signals more “graspable” to the users. Everyone is invited to test the app and give us feedback on the new functionality Read more about SoniControl 2.0 beta testing[…]
On September 27th we presented SoniControl and SoniTalk at the Forschungsfest Niederösterreich in Vienna. The event was taking place at the Palais Niederösterreich and welcomed numerous visitors interested in experimenting and discover Lower Austrian research projects. Our stand was in the “Rittersaal” where projects about the “Medien und Technik” topic were positioned. We were able Read more about Forschungsfest Niederösterreich Presentation of SoniControl and SoniTalk[…]
Filter detections and download new rules Our map visualization improved significantly since the first prototype. It now has the functionality to filter by technology, address and time; and shows different technologies with different colours. Beside that, the amplitude of the detections is shown by the radius of the circles and the number of detections at Read more about Improved map visualization and import detection rules[…]
Visualization and sonification in one dialog Here is a first prototype of our new detection dialog. It now integrates the visualization of ultrasonic messages and will offer the possibility to replay messages at audible frequencies to get a better grasp of what was detected. These diagnostics features should help users to distinguish potentially unwanted signals from false detection (e.g. triggered by some “noise”). Read more about Integrating the diagnostics module[…]
We developed a first prototype of our server. We have implemented now a sharing functionality. With that, users can upload their detections and share them with the community. Everything happens anonymously, and no user specific data will be stored. Only the data about the detection itself, like location, where the detection happened, and a timestamp, Read more about First prototype Sharing functionality and map visualization[…]
